About
Tempo is a stablecoin-focused payments blockchain (chain ID 4217) backed by Stripe and Paradigm. It is an EVM-compatible, EIP-1559 network with one distinctive trait: there is no native gas token. Transaction fees are paid in TIP-20 stablecoins — pathUSD by default — so balances and gas estimates are denominated directly in USD.
pathUSD is Tempo's first native stablecoin, a TIP-20 precompile predeployed at genesis and pegged ~1:1 to the US dollar. It is both the network's default fee token and the underlying asset for the yields below.
With Morpho live on Tempo, idle pathUSD can be put to work in open, curated credit markets directly on the network. The first yields available are Morpho Vaults V2 denominated in pathUSD. These are ERC-4626 vaults that allocate deposits across Morpho markets, with curators (Sentora and Gauntlet) managing risk and market selection. Upon deposit, users receive a vault share and rewards accrue automatically through share-price appreciation (exposed as pricePerShare). Shares are redeemable for the underlying token at any time, subject to vault liquidity.
