Spark is a leading on-chain lending and savings protocol built on Ethereum, designed to provide efficient access to DeFi yield opportunities through two complementary layers: the SparkLend markets and the Spark Savings Vaults. Together, they allow users and integrators to access both dynamic lending yields and simplified vault-based savings products within a unified ecosystem.

SparkLend

SparkLend is Spark’s native lending market, supporting major assets such as DAI, USDC, ETH. User can supply any supported asset and generate yield through the interest paid by borrowers on Spark.

Spark Savings (v2)

The Spark Savings Vaults are ERC-4626-standardized yield vaults for USDC, ETH, and USDT. These vaults leverage the Spark Liquidity Layer to allocate deposits across different yield-generating strategies anchored to the Sky Savings Rate (SSR).

Spark Savings (v1)

The Savings USDC vault (sUSDC) is a legacy V1 vault that deposits USDC into the Sky Savings Rate. The USDC Savings vault exchanges USDC for USDS using the Sky PSM (Peg Stability Module), and deposits it into Sky Savings Rate. When users withdraw, the USDS is exchanged back to USDC using the Sky PSM. This is a 1:1 swap with no slippage or fees besides network fees

The Sky Savings Rate is funded by Sky's revenue, which includes fees from crypto collateralized loans, investments into U.S. treasury bills and its liquidity provisioning into SparkLend and the Spark Liquidity Layer

Regardless of the yield, the user flow when interacting with Spark products stays the same. Following the deposit, users start earning rewards right away with rewards being distributed each block. Upon the withdrawal, the receipt tokens are burnt and the user receives the corresponding amount of underlying assets instantly.

Considerations

• Spark Points: Users who deposit into Spark Savings vaults earn Spark Points on top of the native yield — the points are credited daily. The rate at which points accumulate varies between the three assets:
  • ETH: 50,000 Spark Points per deposited ETH
  • USDC: 3 Spark Points per deposited USDC
  • USDT: 3 Spark Points per deposited USDT
