New launch. Meta Vaults are live. A Meta Vault spreads one deposit across the strategies you choose, and your users see one balance and one blended APY after your fees.
OAVs (Optimized Allocator Vaults) are how you earn management and performance fees on Earn. Yield.xyz deploys and operates these audited ERC-4626 vaults, which wrap yield strategies with your fees. Users hold vault shares in their own wallets, so rebalancing, compounding and responding to a risk event don’t require them to sign anything. Funds can only move between the vault and its whitelisted strategies. Vault fees are paid by minting new vault shares to your fee recipient, so nothing is withdrawn from a strategy to pay you. A deposit fee can also be charged without a vault, through the FeeWrapper contract. For how vault fees fit with your other Earn fees, see Earn monetization.

The three kinds of OAV

How OAVs work: a user deposit goes into a Meta Vault, Sentinel Vault or single-strategy OAV, which sits on top of Earn yields
In all three, the vault contract takes your fees, users hold ERC-4626 vault shares and deposits go only into the vault’s configured strategies. Role holders operate the vault: harvesting, pausing and, for Meta and Sentinel Vaults, moving capital between strategies. Admin rights can stay with Yield.xyz, be shared with you through a joint multisig, or be handed to you entirely. The operator and monitoring wallets can only rebalance or pause. See Roles & signing.

How each OAV manages capital

Meta and Sentinel Vaults hold deposits in an idle balance and allocate them to strategies, while a single-strategy OAV passes each deposit straight into its strategy. Every OAV reinvests incentive rewards and pays your fees as new vault shares.
How each OAV manages capital: a Meta Vault holds deposits in idle and the keeper allocates them across up to 10 strategies, with withdrawals paid from idle first; a Sentinel Vault runs one main strategy and, when a risk is confirmed, pauses and moves the capital into a pre-approved fallback; a single-strategy OAV deposits straight into one fixed strategy. Fees on every OAV are paid as new vault shares

Audits

The Meta Vault and Sentinel Vault contracts were audited by Zellic in September 2026, and earlier vault generations by Zellic and Spearbit/Cantina. The reports are on the Trust Center. The Meta Vault design is the subject of a pending US patent application (19/676,363, filed May 2026).

Ownership boundary

This section covers vault contracts Yield.xyz deploys and operates on your behalf. To enter a third-party protocol’s own vault, such as a Morpho or Yearn vault, use a normal DeFi yield: see Earn › DeFi › Vaults.

Configuring and monitoring vaults

You request an OAV for your project in the dashboard. Yield.xyz reviews the request, then deploys and maintains the contract.

Next steps

Meta Vaults

One deposit, one balance, one blended APY across the strategies you choose.

Sentinel Vaults

One monitored strategy that pauses on a confirmed risk, exits and can move to a fallback.

Single-strategy OAVs

Single-strategy vaults with configurable deposit, performance, and management fees.

Off-the-shelf OAVs

Pre-deployed OAVs you can integrate without requesting a custom deployment.
