# Avalanche staking

> Delegate AVAX to a validator on Avalanche's P-Chain for a fixed term, or hold liquid sAVAX through Benqi.

Delegate AVAX to a validator on the Avalanche Primary Network, or hold sAVAX, a liquid receipt token issued by Benqi. Native delegation runs from a C-Chain address; the integration handles the required C-to-P transfers.

## Yields

| Yield ID | Staking type | Provider | Validator selection |
| - | - | - | - |
| `avalanche-avax-native-staking` | Native | Any active validator | Required |
| [`avalanche-avax-liquid-staking`](/documentation/earn/defi/liquid-staking/benqi) | Liquid | Benqi | Not applicable |

## Key facts

| | |
| - | - |
| Network ID | `avalanche-c` |
| Staked token | AVAX |
| Unbonding / cooldown | None; the staking term itself locks funds (see below) |
| Minimum | 25 AVAX (native staking) |
| Rewards | Auto, paid once at the end of the staking term |

Native delegation is term-locked rather than cooldown-gated: you choose a duration between 14 and 365 days when you enter, and the delegated AVAX cannot be exited before that term ends. Rewards are not streamed; they are paid once, at term end, net of the validator's fee.

## Enter and exit

Enter native staking with `amount` (25 AVAX minimum), `validatorAddress`, and `duration` (14 to 365 days), all required. There is no exit action: once delegated, funds stay locked until the term you chose ends. After the term ends, the position unlocks and becomes withdrawable.

Liquid staking (sAVAX) only requires `amount` to enter and supports exit at any time, subject to Benqi's own redemption mechanics; see the [Benqi liquid staking page](/documentation/earn/defi/liquid-staking/benqi.md).

## Managing the position

| Action | What it does |
| - | - |
| `STAKE_LOCKED` | Delegate a `locked` balance to continue earning after the C-to-P transfer completes |
| `WITHDRAW` | Move the unlocked balance back to the C-Chain after the staking term ends |

Copy this request to list the staking yields on this network that are enabled for your project. Yield IDs change as markets and networks are added, so query the API rather than hardcoding them.
